There are three modes of reasoning, emotional (Pathos), logical (Logos), and moral (Ethos). Pathos is the only one that is understood at birth, all others require training. Our education system is no longer promoting the education of these other modes of reasoning, leading to people who can only rationalize their world view via their emotional states.
